After reading about Ralph's situation, a few former teammates who played under Ralph at Sidwell Friends School created a trust fund to help ensure that he receives the care he needs. If the NFL's support program renders such help unnecessary, the trust proceeds will be donated to an appropriate charity in Ralph's honor.

The trust is organized as a Special Needs Trust under New York law. It is managed by three trustees, all of whom played for Ralph at Sidwell:

Andrew Goldsmith is a lawyer in New York.

Doug Thornell is the national press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. He lives in Washington, D.C.

Greg Zumas lives in Washington, D.C.

Ralph, his family, and his former players who will always remember the lessons he taught would deeply appreciate any contribution to the trust. You can contribute online by clicking on the button below. Contributions are not tax deductible and may result in gift tax or estate planning consequences for contributors. Please consult your tax preparer or legal counsel.
